Vivo has published one of the first photo samples from the new Zeiss camera of the X500 Pro Max, showing a sunset captured using the 400mm Zeiss teleconverter. The new camera flagship was also used to record a 4K video sample.

Later this month, Vivo will unveil three new Zeiss camera flagships in China. Many of the X500 series specifications have already been revealed in advance, including details about the new 1/1.28-inch Sony Lytia LYT-910 sensor with LOFIC technology for a higher dynamic range in the main camera. A comparison video featuring a conventional camera setup without this technology was already shown last week, and product manager Han Boxiao has now also provided the first official photo sample from the new 85mm telephoto camera in the Vivo X500 Pro Max, which delivers an optically equivalent focal length of 400m using a teleconverter. As the watermark confirms, the aperture remains unchanged at f/2.67, just like on the Vivo X300 Pro and the Vivo X300 Ultra

Camera quality at 4K60

The photo at the top shows the setup used for this shot. As can be seen from the now circular LED flash, this is indeed the Vivo X500 Pro Max concealed behind a protective case, while the 400mm tele-extender appears to be the same one introduced with the Vivo X300 Ultra. New video footage can also be found on Weibo, although this time it does not show 4K240 slow motion, but a short 4K60 video sample uploaded in 2K quality. We also expect the Vivo X500 series, based on new 2nm Dimensity 9600 chips, to arrive in other markets like India or Europe in a few weeks, shortly after its launch in China. While three Vivo X500 models are expected in China, the smaller Pro model is unlikely to come to Europe, leaving us with the more affordable Vivo X500 on the one hand and the flagship Vivo X500 Pro Max on the other.
