New FujiShare beta writes 7 Fujifilm film recipes to C1-C7 over USB with read-back checks

A developer posting to r/FujifilmX has just released FujiShare. It's a new iOS app that writes a full set of seven film simulation recipes into a Fujifilm camera's custom banks in one connected pass instead of one menu screen at a time.

According to the app's documentation, recipes travel over USB using the connection mode Fujifilm labels USB RAW Conv./Backup Restore. FujiShare reads what the body offers before it writes, writes each setting on its own, and reads every one back to verify it. A failed write is explicitly communicated to the user, instead of being half-applied. Writing is limited to the X100V and the X-Processor 5 generation — X100VI, X-T5, X-T50, X-E5, X-M5, X-T30 III, X-S20, X-H2 and X-H2S. Older cameras such as the X-T4 and X-Pro3 can have recipes read from their images but do not offer their banks to a phone over USB, and GFX writing is listed as simply untested.

The sharing side avoids manual entry entirely. Every Fujifilm JPEG stores its recipe and capture data at the moment of the shot, so a post is built by selecting a photo — shutter, aperture, ISO, body and lens are read from the file rather than typed. This is the app's answer to recipes that look nothing like the sample image once loaded.

Recipe transfer over the cable is not new by any means. The Fuji X Weekly app added USB-C transfer to newer X and GFX cameras, and Fuji Recipes also writes to individual C1–C7 slots and can push a folder to all seven at once. FujiShare's USP is the read-back check and the saved restore point.

Please note: Fujifilm explicitly states that using any non-licensed program to connect to or control a compatible camera voids the limited product warranty — Ritchie Roesch of Fuji X Weekly confirmed this with the company in June. FujiShare repeats that warning and tells owners not to connect if the warranty matters to them.

The beta is free and iOS only, with an Android version planned but undated.
