With the Watch D series, Huawei offers a relatively reliable smartwatch for health monitoring, particularly with regard to blood pressure measurements. A few days ahead of its global launch in Germany the new Watch D3 has now leaked with official press renders, specs and a detailed price.

Just a few hours ago, Huawei promoted three of the Watch D3’s new features in a teaser video: With its slimmer case, a slightly larger display and reportedly more comfortable straps, the Watch D3 will be unveiled in Europe next week. The global launch will take place on September 2 in Munich, Germany. Owners of the first-generation Watch D can also secure a significant discount, at least in the German online store.

Additional information about the Huawei Watch D3 has now leaked ahead of the launch. Like with previous versions of the Watch D series, the new one is primarily aimed at those seeking particularly reliable blood pressure monitoring on the go. Roland Quandt from Winfuture provides us with virtually all the details in advance and also has new, official press images showing the Huawei watch in a total of three color combinations: the two case colors gold and dark gray can be paired with straps in black, brown and white.

Slightly more expensive than its predecessor

According to the leak, the LTPO AMOLED display will indeed grow from 1.82 inches to 1.92 inches but the resolution will remain the same at 480x408 pixels. At 11.4 mm, the case is significantly thinner than the Huawei Watch D2’s 13.3 mm. Despite the thinner case, Huawei has increased the battery capacity from 524 mAh to 540 mAh. Huawei continues to promise 6 days of battery life for “typical use.” Instead of Bluetooth 5.2, the Watch D3 now features Bluetooth 6, GPS is back as well. The case is still IP68-rated for water resistance, although Huawei had previously warned against wearing the Watch D2 in wet areas or while swimming or diving.

The Huawei watch is said to offer 64 MB of RAM and 64 MB of storage, though this is largely irrelevant for this smartwatch since you can’t actively access it. In addition to the inflatable cuff for relatively accurate blood pressure measurement, the watch also features 24-hour blood pressure monitoring and a reporting function. In addition to an ECG function, the watch features sensors for blood oxygen saturation, heart rate, step count, and sleep monitoring; it can also measure the skin surface temperature. Another interesting part of this leak is the price in euros, which, according to a leak, will increase by 50 euros to 450 euros ($521). The previous model is currently available on Amazon Germany starting at around 330 euros.
