The Lily 2 Active has received two stable updates in quick succession.
Garmin is now offering multiple improvements and changes to one of its GPS watches. Available via Garmin Connect Mobile or Garmin Express, the new updates add support for new target alerts and fix a system crash during HR broadcasting, among other refinements from earlier stable software.

Garmin has released a new update for the Lily 2 Active (curr. $299 on Amazon). Launched almost two years ago, the Lily 2 Active surpasses the standard Lily 2 with built-in GPS and up to 9 days of battery life.

A few months ago, Garmin introduced improved cold weather performance. As we discussed in April, Software Version 5.10 was also said to resolve a second-hand ghosting issue. Now, Garmin claims to have fixed multiple bugs across Software Version 5.11 and Software Version 5.12.

Specifically, the new updates make six changes from Software Version 5.10. For instance, the Lily 2 Active should no longer crash during heart rate (HR) broadcasting. Additionally, Garmin reports that it added support for new target alerts.

Software Version 5.12 should now have been offered to all Lily 2 Active devices via Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile. If that is not the case, then you can request Garmin's latest update package through either of these platforms. The full changelog from Software Version 5.10 is as follows:

  • Added support for new target alerts
  • Fixed a crash during HR broadcasting
  • Fixed pound-to-kilogram and kilogram-to-pound conversion errors
  • Fixed wind speed displaying as 0 MPH
  • Resolved Snowball card compliance issues
  • Text Translations - 5.11
