The Garmin Lily 2 Active isn't just a Lily 2 with GPS. It is actually a new smartwatch with a different design. While it still retains its signature stylish look which includes a patterned lens and hidden display, the Lily 2 Active has a slightly different metal case. However, the most notable difference is the two physical buttons on the side. The Lily 2 Active is available in three colors - Lunar Gold, Silver, and Jasper Green. All three have silicone bands.
Garmin says the Lily 2 Active is its smallest smartwatch with built-in GPS (GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, too). With this addition, the smartwatch can accurately track outdoor activities such as running, walking, and cycling without relying on your phone's GPS.
The two physical buttons are also a welcome addition that allows users to start and stop an activity or switch between screens. This makes sense since operating a touchscreen with sweaty hands can be a hassle. Garmin also states that the Lily 2 Active has new sports apps for tennis, pickleball, indoor cycling, and golf.
In addition to all of the Lily 2's health and fitness features, the Lily Active 2 now has a sleep coach, meditation, health snapshot which Garmin describes as a feature that allows users to log a 2-minute session that records heart rate, Pulse Ox, and respiration. It also has a compass.
Another big upgrade the Lily 2 Active brings is a significant improvement in battery life. Compared to the Lily 2 which has up to 5 days of battery life, the Lily 2 Active takes it up to 9 days. With GPS turned on, it lasts up to 9 hours. The new watch is also a few grams heavier.
The Garmin Lily 2 Active has a price tag of $299.99, $50 more than the Lily 2. It is available to buy on Garmin and Amazon.
