Garmin releases new update to multiple smartwatches with more than a dozen improvements

In recent weeks. Garmin has furnished many of its mid-range and upper mid-range smartwatches with new beta and stable updates. Amongst these releases, the company has launched and started selling the Fenix 9 alongside the Fenix 9 Pro.

Now, Garmin has delivered a new beta update to the Forerunner 570, Forerunner 970. Venu 4, Venu X1 and Vivoactive 6 (curr. $294 on Amazon). Arriving simultaneously. Beta Version 18.27 is available as an over-the-air (OTA) download across all five smartwatches.

If that has not occurred yet, then you can navigate through the main menu to Settings, System and Software Update before tapping “Check For Updates”. Garmin tends to only take a few days to finish a beta rollout, though.

Setting that aside, Beta Version 18.27 is said to contain over a dozen changes from Beta Version 18.19. Please note that these are all bug fixes. The changelog for Garmin’s new beta is as follows:

• Fixes a potential issue with the display that could cause unexpected behaviour and inconsistent gesture response.
• Fixes an issue that could cause a delay in showing the score prompt while golfing.
• Fixes an issue that could cause the always-on display setting to fail to take effect.
• Fixes an issue where alert tones could fail to play during an incident detection.
• Fixes an issue where an audio spectator message could be cut off before completing.
• Fixes an issue where an audio spectator message could be difficult to hear over music.
• Fixes an issue where phone assistant could fail to recognise voice commands.
• Fixes an issue where phone assistant won't work after it is interrupted by an incoming call.
• Fixes an issue where volume could fail to adjust correctly in the music app.
• Fixes an issue with button tones failing to sound.
• Fixes an issue with pausing music when the music provider is set to control phone.
• Fixes other minor issues.
• Updates translations.
