Huawei Watch 6 makes its first appearance, just days before its launch
The Huawei Watch 5 will get a successor as early as next week, as Huawei has confirmed in the teaser video embedded below that the next-generation smartwatch will be officially unveiled on Wednesday, September 2.
The smartwatch will be unveiled at the "Chase the Wild" launch event in Munich, where the global launch of the Huawei Watch GT 7 and the Huawei Watch D3 blood pressure smartwatch will also be announced. The teaser video shows the smartwatch in gold, silver, and black, each with a silicone sports strap. A version with a titanium strap is not yet shown in this video.
Apart from the colors, the design is virtually unchanged from the previous model. As before, Huawei has opted for a round display with a narrow, labeled bezel, a metal case with a button, and a digital crown. The X-Tap sensor is also located on the right side. When touched with a finger, it activates all of the smartwatch’s sensors, allowing it to measure heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and skin temperature, among other things, and to perform an ECG.
The two sensor areas in the X-Tap sensor are slightly larger than on the previous model, suggesting that Huawei is revamping the smartwatch’s sensors. However, no further details are available yet regarding the new features the Huawei Watch 6 will offer. It’s possible that, as with the Huawei Watch GT 7, the hardware upgrades will be limited, and Huawei will focus primarily on new software features.
