Garmin releases new update to multiple wearables with more than a dozen changes and improvements

Garmin has released numerous software updates on its Beta Program and on its stable software branch in the last few weeks. For instance, it has just started offering a new stable update to the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970. At the same time, the company has just released the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro globally.

Moreover, Garmin is distributing new updates to the Descent MK3 and Descent MK3i too (curr. $1,599 on Amazon). For context, the company furnished both smartwatches with Software Version 25.21 in April. A replacement for Software Version 25.14, Software Version 25.21 introduced new diving features like the ability to copy conservatism and gas lists to another Garmin device.

Now, Software Version 27.16 has arrived with dozens of changes. Of those shown below, two are specific to the Descent MK3i. Also, the new update contains multiple in-dive changes, including changes to Central Nervous System (CNS) toxicity alerts.

Garmin adds that it has merged seven changes from the Fenix 7 series upon which the Descent MK3 and Descent MK3i are based. As far as we can tell, these improvements stem from System Software 26.09, rather than newer v27.xx-based builds. Please see the changelog below and Garmin's forum post for more details.
