Garmin Fenix 9 Pro said to feature brand-new titanium unibody design and larger display

Garmin has announced a launch event that will be streamed live on YouTube on Tuesday, August 26, starting at 1:00 p.m. CEST. The event is primarily expected to feature the official unveiling of the Garmin Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro. A retailer leak suggests that both models will be available with inReach satellite connectivity, at least as an option, so unlike with the Fenix 8 ($849 on Amazon), inReach is no longer the main difference between the base and Pro models.

Garmin Rumors has now learned from its sources that the Fenix 9 Pro will feature a brand-new design, as the case is said to be made entirely of titanium. The more affordable Garmin Fenix 9, on the other hand, is expected to feature a case similar to that of the Fenix 8 (Pro), with a bezel and back made of metal, while the rest of the case is made of plastic. In addition, at least the largest model is expected to receive another upgrade: a larger display.

While both the 47-millimeter and 51-millimeter versions of the Fenix 8 were equipped with a 1.4-inch display, the 51-millimeter Garmin Fenix 9 is expected to feature a 1.5-inch touchscreen, which should result in significantly narrower bezels. According to Garmin Rumors, prices will remain largely unchanged. For context: The Garmin Fenix 8 launched at prices between $1,099 and 1,199, depending on the display and size. The Garmin Fenix 8 Pro ranges from $1,199 to $1,699, with the most expensive version featuring a microLED display – a feature that is reportedly no longer offered on the Fenix 9 Pro.
