Garmin Fenix 9 (Pro) leak reveals sensors and shows many variants
The Garmin Fenix 9 (Pro) is expected to be officially unveiled during a launch event starting at 1:00 p.m. CEST. After the first images were leaked on Monday and Garmin Taiwan’s website revealed some information about the features, numerous images of the two smartwatches, which also come from the official Garmin website, can now be found on Google.
These images offer a first look at the sensors in the Garmin Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro. According to the images, both models feature the Garmin Elevate 5, already familiar from the Garmin Fenix 8 ($849 on Amazon), as the arrangement of the LEDs, photodiodes, and electrical sensors remains unchanged. The charging port is also the same as on the previous model.
According to the inscription on the back, both the Fenix 9 and the Fenix 9 Pro feature a titanium case with sapphire glass covering the display, are water-resistant up to 10 ATM, and are suitable for diving to a depth of 40 meters.
The Pro model features a metal frame instead of a plastic one and has "Garmin" engraved on the right side. The images show the Garmin Fenix 9 exclusively with an AMOLED display, while the Fenix 9 Pro is shown with either an AMOLED or MiP display. One of the images confirms that the MiP version has integrated solar cells to extend battery life.
The Fenix 9 Pro is expected to feature a 3,000-nit AMOLED display, 64 GB of flash memory, and numerous new software features. Details are likely to be officially confirmed in the coming hours.
