New budget Xiaomi smartwatch receives official release with 1,200-nit AMOLED display and IP68 rating

Hardly any time has passed since Xiaomi launched the Redmi Watch 6 Active in China. Typically, the company waits a few months between releasing devices in China and elsewhere. However, the Redmi Watch 6 Active has quietly debuted in Europe on one of Xiaomi's regional websites.
Previously, the Redmi Watch 6 Active was expected to reach Europe for €50 (~$58) as a cheaper alternative to the Redmi Watch 6 Lite (curr. $75 on Amazon). For the time being, Xiaomi has not officially revealed Eurozone pricing. Nonetheless, Alza is already selling the smartwatch in Matte Silver, Midnight Black and Sunset Orange colours for €49.90 (~$50).
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has officially released the same smartwatch in Poland for PLN 199 (~$53) with identical launch colours. As the image below shows, the Redmi Watch 6 Active combines a 1.85-inch AMOLED display with up to 18 days of battery life. Spanning 44.5 x 39.4 x 9.99 mm, the smartwatch also weighs 26 g without its included strap.
Moreover, this 1,200-nit display and 470 mAh battery are joined by IP68 certification, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and compatibility for devices running Android 8.0 or iOS 14.0 and newer. Unfortunately, quick pay functionality is missing outside China. Please see Xiaomi's website and our launch article for more details.
