Lenovo releases new MacBook Neo rival in more countries with 14-inch display and 32 GB RAM
Lenovo continues to expand availability of laptops with Intel Wildcat Lake processors. For reference, we recently reviewed the IdeaPad Slim 3 15IPH11 with the Core 7 350. Alternatively, the company is now selling the smaller IdeaPad Slim 3 14IWC11 with the same 6-core processor.
Previously, the 14-inch laptop rivalled the MacBook Neo (curr. $689 on Amazon) in Oceania, East Asia, Southeast Asia and parts of Europe. Now, the IdeaPad Slim 3 14IWC11 has reached the rest of Europe. Conversely, Lenovo has not listed the laptop in North America yet despite confirming the existence of SKUs that will be sold in Canada.
Setting that aside, the IdeaPad Slim 3 14IWC11 can be configured with up to 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, 1 TB of M.2 2242 storage and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Moreover, the laptop contains a 50 Wh or 60 Wh battery, the latter of which Lenovo rates for 21 hours of battery life when locally playing 1080p videos at 150 nits.
Unfortunately, the optional OLED display mentioned on PSREF is not yet available to purchase. Instead, Lenovo continues to restrict the IdeaPad Slim 3 14IWC11 to an IPS panel with a 1200p resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and 45% NTSC colour space coverage. Currently, pricing starts at €839 (~$978) in the Eurozone with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and a Core 3 304 processor.
