Lenovo releases new 15-inch laptop in more countries with over 18 hours battery life
Earlier this month, Lenovo released the V15 Gen 6 AMN in parts of Europe. As we discussed at the time, the 15-inch laptop had reached Austria and Germany for €819 (~$948). Unfortunately, prices have since increased by €100 to €919 (~$1,070).
For the time being, the V15 Gen 6 AMN has not arrived in other parts of Europe. Meanwhile, Lenovo has quietly started selling the laptop in East Asia and Southeast Asia. Specifically, the V15 Gen 6 AMN can now be purchased in Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Previously, the laptop was only sold with the Ryzen 5 40, a quad-core processor that is less powerful than the Ryzen 5 7430U in the V15 Gen 4 that preceded it (curr. $514 on Amazon). However, the laptop starts with the even weaker Athlon Silver 10 in East Asia and Southeast Asia, which contributes to its KRW 1,121,150, HKD 7,608, MYR 3,899, SGD 1,339 and THB 30,566 (~$930) launch prices.
Alternatively, the V16 Gen 5 AMN can be configured with the quad-core Ryzen 3 30 and Ryzen 5 40, as well as 8 GB or 16 GB of soldered LPDDR5 RAM running at 5,500 MT/s and 256 GB or 512 GB of M.2 2242 storage. Moreover, Lenovo offers the choice between IPS and TN panels. Both output at 1080p in a 16:9 aspect ratio with 300 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate, 45% NTSC colour space coverage.
On top of that, all SKUs ship with a 47 Wh battery that supports 65 W charging. According to Lenovo, the V15 Gen 6 AMN extracts up to 18.73 hours in JEITA-BAT 3.0 from its 47 Wh battery at 200 nits, 17.06 hours in PCMark 10 at 120 nits and 10.75 hours in MobileMark 30 at 250 nits. For reference, PSREF indicates the V15 Gen 6 will eventually receive a global release, with dedicated African, European, Middle Eastern and North American SKUs already listed.
