Lenovo has introduced a 4G-equipped variant of the ThinkPad X14 Gen 1 laptop over in China. The Intel Panther Lake-powered laptop sports up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and can cost as much as $3,200.

Lenovo has introduced a new 4G LTE-equipped variant of its Lenovo ThinkPad X14 laptop in China, spotted by IT Home. Apart from the addition of cellular connectivity, the rest of the specs and features appear to be mostly the same.

To be more specific, the ThinkPad X14 continues to be powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 378H CPU, paired with a whopping 64 GB of RAM and a terabyte of SSD storage. An OLED screen with a 2.8K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate can also be configured. Lenovo also claims 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The 16-core Ultra X9 378H CPU is about as fast as the previous Core Ultra 9 285H CPU. While the lack of any meaningful CPU performance upgrades may be disappointing, the Core Ultra X9's new Arc B390 GPU does put its predecessors' performance to shame.

In other words, the new 12-core (Xe3) Arc B390 is almost twice as fast as the previous Arc Graphics 140T iGPU. This brings a ton of improvements for users who have GPU-intensive workflows, as well as gaming performance.

ThinkPad X14 laptop can be equipped with up to 16-core Core Ultra X9 378H CPU paired with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM.

The aforementioned 4G LTE connectivity is courtesy of the ThinkPad X14's Magic Bay accessory ecosystem. Apart from a 4G modem, other compatible accessories include a tiny secondary display, and a huge webcam for the time being.

Other notable details of the ThinkPad X14 Gen 1 laptop include a backlit keyboard, privacy shutter for the front camera, Wi-Fi 7, and 74Wh battery. Availability in international markets is almost certain, but the exact timeframe for the same is yet to be clear.

As of this writing, the ThinkPad X14 with the Core Ultra X9 378H CPU, 32 GB of RAM and LTE connectivity is priced at just under 17,000 yuan (~$2,500), while the version with twice the RAM is priced at just under 22,000 yuan (~$3,200).

Folks who are planning on importing this laptop from China through JD.com and other services should be aware of the associated import duties and other shipping risks.
