Lenovo releases new 16-inch ThinkPad globally with over 24 hours battery life and 120 Hz display

Lenovo has quietly released one of its cheaper 16-inch ThinkPads globally. To recap, the company added the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 AMD to its PSREF website in May. As we discussed at the time, the laptop debuted with over half a dozen processor options from AMD's Krackan Point 2 and Gorgon Point families.
However, it took almost two months before Lenovo started selling the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 AMD in any capacity. Even then, the laptop only arrived in Australia, East Asia, Southeast Asia and parts of Europe. Now, Lenovo has expanded availability to other markets as the company looks to replace the ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 we reviewed last July on a global basis (curr. $859 on Amazon).
For instance, pricing starts at $1,139 in the US with the Ryzen AI 7 345, 16 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, a 512 GB M.2 2242 SSD and a 120 Hz variable refresh rate (VRR) IPS display. Lenovo only sells the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 with a 48 Wh battery in the US, though. By contrast, other markets have received an optional 64 Wh battery, which Lenovo claims lasts over 24 hours in JEITA-BAT 3.0 at 200 nits and almost 23 hours when playing local videos at 150 nits.
Currently, Lenovo charges at least £1,037 for the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 in the UK and between €953-€1,718 in the Eurozone. As it stands, upgrading from the Ryzen AI 5 330 to the Ryzen AI 7 450 costs £170/€150. Worse still, upgrading from 16 GB to 32 GB RAM runs to £390/€360. Meanwhile, switching from the stock 48 Wh battery to its 64 Wh counterpart costs just £10/€10. Please see Lenovo's website for more details.
