Lenovo releases new 16-inch ThinkPad internationally with 32 GB RAM, 120 Hz display and AMD Ryzen processors

Lenovo has finally started selling the AMD version of the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4. For context, the company quietly added the 16-inch laptop to its PSREF website in mid-May. Then a few weeks later, it released Intel equivalents powered by Panther Lake processors like the Core Ultra 7 355 and Core Ultra 5 336H.
Now, the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 has landed in Australia, East Asia, Southeast Asia and parts of Europe to replace the ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 we reviewed in 2025 (curr. $979 on Amazon). Specifically, we can find AMD models for sale in Italy. Meanwhile, other key markets like Germany, France, Spain and the UK also show the laptop as 'coming soon'. By contrast, Lenovo has not yet listed the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 in North America.
Setting that aside, the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 starts at AUD 1,577, HKD 13,374, MYR 6,309 and SGD 1,930 (~$1,493) in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, respectively. While these countries have received fully configurable units, Lenovo currently restricts those in the Eurozone to a single SKU priced at €1,299 including taxes (~$1,485). For reference, this SKU contains a 1200p, 60 Hz and 45% NTSC IPS display, as well as a 64 Wh battery, 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD and the Ryzen AI 5 430 from AMD's Gorgon Point family, all within a housing that weighs 1.63 kg.
In comparison, the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 can be purchased with the more powerful Ryzen AI 7 445. Alternatively, Lenovo sells Krackan Point 2 variants with the Ryzen AI 5 330 and Ryzen AI 7 345. Moreover, the 16-inch laptop can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and a 48 Wh or 64 Wh battery. On top of that, Lenovo sells an optional 120 Hz and 100% sRGB display, albeit with the same 1,920 x 1,200-pixel and 400 nits peak brightness as its 60 Hz counterpart.
