HP has released new versions of its latest 15-inch gaming laptop. Now available with up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, the HyperX Omen 15 also now comes in cheaper configurations starting at $1,699 with AMD processors.

A little of a month has passed since HP initially released the HyperX Omen 15. Presented in January, the HyperX Omen 15 serves as a smaller alternative to the Omen 16 we reviewed towards the end of 2025 (curr. $1,899 on Amazon). Initially, HP sold the HyperX Omen 15 with the GeForce RTX 5070 and the Core Ultra 7 356H, Core Ultra 9 386H or the Ryzen 7 8745HX.

Now, the company has expanded its 15-inch laptop to include cheaper options. Additionally, HP is selling more expensive options too for those after more CPU performance than the Core Ultra 7 356H, Core Ultra 9 386H or Ryzen 7 8745HX provide. Specifically, the HyperX Omen 15 can now be configured with either the Core Ultra 9 275HX or the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus from Intel's Arrow Lake HX generation.

According to our benchmarks, these processors should bring between 30% and 40% higher CPU performance compared to the existing Core Ultra 9 386H. In practice, these extra CPU cores and higher TDPs should translate into higher FPS in some CPU-heavy games. Alternatively, HP's AMD-based alternative can be configured with the more powerful Ryzen 9 8940HX, albeit only Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU.

Setting that aside, the HyperX Omen 15 also comes with up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and 1 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage. On top of that, HP offers the laptop with a choice of two 15.3-inch display panels. By default, the HyperX Omen 15 comes with a 1200p IPS panel that combines a 165 Hz refresh rate with 400 nits peak brightness. Alternatively, HP charges $40 extra for a 1600p IPS panel with a 180 Hz variable refresh rate and 500 nits peak brightness.

Despite the wealth of configuration options, all SKUs ship with a 70 Wh and 4-cell battery. The HyperX Omen 15 starts at $1,999 with an Intel processor, down from the $2,099 MSRP that HP previously charged. Meanwhile, pricing of AMD models now begins at $1,699. At the time of writing, a fully configured model costs $3,329. Please see HP's website for more details.
