HP OmniBook X Flip 14 is missing a key configuration found only on the clamshell version

The 2026 OmniBook X Flip 14 is one of the few 14-inch convertibles shipping with both Intel Core 300 and AMD Zen 5 options. As noted in our recent review of the AMD version, the system is one of the fastest in its size category and by quite the margin as well even when compared to HP's own OmniBook Ultra Flip 14. However, some CPU options have been omitted which could have boosted performance even further.
There are currently no OmniBook X Flip 14 configurations with the Core Ultra X7 358H or Ultra X9 388H CPU even though the OmniBook X 14 clamshell can be configured with up to the Ultra X9 388H. Instead, the convertible model tops out at the Core Ultra 9 386H which notably lacks the Arc B390 iGPU. Graphics performance with the OmniBook clamshell is therefore significantly faster than the Omnibook convertible by 40 to 70 percent despite the fact that both models share the exact same ports, battery sizes, 1800p 120 Hz OLED touchscreen, and overall external design.
Similarly, the AMD version of the OmniBook X Flip 14 also tops out at a processor that's just one or two steps down from the highest SKU. Instead of offering the Ryzen AI 9 470 with Radeon 890M, the current highest configuration includes the Ryzen AI 9 465 with Radeon 880M instead. The latter GPU is actually slightly slower than the Arc 140V as found on Lunar Lake-powered models like the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6.
For the majority of users interested in the OmniBook X Flip 14, the missing GPU horsepower is likely unneeded for their daily browsing or spreadsheets. For graphics editors or content creators, however, they may want to consider the faster OmniBook X 14 clamshell.
