Asus has finally started selling its Surface Pro 12 rival globally. Equipped with a more powerful Snapdragon X2 Elite chipset than Microsoft's latest 2-in-1, the ProArt PZ14 also contains a larger 75 Wh battery and a 144 Hz OLED display with higher peak brightness, too.

Earlier this month, we reviewed the Surface Pro 12 featuring a Snapdragon X2 Elite chipset and a 13-inch OLED display (curr. $1,949 on Amazon). Alternatively, Asus is now selling an equivalent 2-in-1 globally, having already released the ProArt PZ14 in China and in parts of Europe earlier this year.

For context, the ProArt PZ14 effectively replaces the ProArt PZ13. As its name suggests, the ProArt PZ14 jumps to a 14-inch display, which contributes to 319.6 x 206.3 x 90 mm dimensions. Another OLED-wielding 2-in-1, the ProArt PZ14 outputs at 2,880 x 1,800 pixels with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Also, the display delivers up to 1,000 nits peak brightness in HDR mode, which it complements with a 144 Hz refresh rate.

On top of that, Asus pairs this 144 Hz OLED display with the X2E-88-100 version of Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite chipset. According to our benchmarks, this decision should make the ProArt PZ14 around 19% more powerful than the Surface Pro 12. Moreover, the ProArt PZ14 boasts a 41% larger battery than the Surface Pro 12 at 75 Wh versus 53 Wh.

The ProArt PZ14 retails for $2,499 in the US and CAD 2,899 in Canada. Meanwhile, Asus' new 2-in-1 runs to €2,759 in Ireland and £2,299 in the UK. Currently, the ProArt PZ14 comes only with 16 GB of RAM in all but Canada. For some reason, Canada is the only one of the four countries mentioned to have received an optional 32 GB of RAM variant, for which Asus applies a CAD 500 (~$355) surcharge.
