Lenovo releases new ThinkPad globally with Intel Panther Lake and 120 Hz display

Lenovo has expanded the availability of one of its more affordable 16-inch ThinkPads to more countries. Specifically, the company has now released the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 in Europe and North America. For reference, the laptop has been available in Australia, East Asia and Southeast Asia since the end of May.
Currently, the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 can be configured with up to a Core Ultra 7 355 or Core Ultra 5 336H in Europe. In short, both processors will provide more power than the Core Ultra 7 255U-based ThinkPad E16 Gen 3 we reviewed in July 2025. However, our benchmarks indicate that its Core Ultra 7 255H-powered sibling (curr. $1,289 on Amazon) has the edge over the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4. Setting that aside, the laptop also comes with the following display options:
- 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, IPS, anti-glare, non-touch, 60 Hz, 400 nits, 45% NTSC
- 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, IPS, anti-glare, touchscreen, 120 Hz, 400 nits, 100% sRGB
- 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, IPS, anti-glare, non-touch, 120 Hz, 400 nits, 100% sRGB
Lenovo offers its new budget 16-inch ThinkPad with 16 GB or 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of M.2 2242 PCIe Gen 4 storage. Moreover, a 48 Wh or 64 Wh battery is configurable, as is a fingerprint reader and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Also, the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 is available with ABS or aluminium finishes, albeit only in an Eclipse Black colour.
The ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 starts at £1,410 in the UK and between €1,359-€1,670 in the Eurozone, including taxes. Meanwhile, Lenovo charges $1,399 in the US and CAD $1,939 in Canada. All starting configurations feature a Core Ultra 5 325 processor and 16 GB of RAM. Lenovo only sell a pre-configured unit in North America with 512 GB of storage, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, a fingerprint reader and its most basic display option.
