Affordable Mechrevo laptop launches as new MacBook Neo rival with long battery life

Mechrevo has introduced a new MacBook Neo rival in China, the Unbounded 14S 2026. It's powered by a mid-range processor from the Intel Wildcat Lake lineup. Specifically, it packs the Core 5 315, a 6-core CPU that comes with a 2-core Xe3 iGPU.

The company has paired the Wildcat Lake CPU with 12GB of RAM and a 500GB SSD. Given that it has LPDDR5 memory, the RAM can not be upgraded, but the storage should be easy to expand (Lexar 1TB NM790 curr. $199.38 on Amazon).

There are three operational modes, with a 30W performance mode that's said to offer a notable improvement in terms of multi-core performance over the other modes. On the front, there's a 14-inch display, and while the claimed 100% sRGB coverage and DC dimming make the screen good for day-to-day tasks, Mechrevo doesn't say anything about the brightness rating. It's also likely to have a standard 60Hz refresh rate.

A 60Wh battery powers the core components of this affordable laptop, and Mechrevo claims that it allows over 24 hours of local video playback after a full charging session. The company includes a 65W GaN charger, which is said to get the battery from 0% to 50% in around 30 minutes.

As for the port configuration, it's decent for a relatively slim laptop that weighs around 1.1kg (about 2.425lbs). Specifically, the Unbounded 14S 2026 has the following ports:

• 1x HDMI 2.1
• 1x 3.5mm audio

In China, the Unbounded 14S 2026 is going for CNY 3,899, about $580. There's only one configuration available, and since Mechrevo has some global presence, the company could bring this to markets outside China soon.
