Lenovo intros new 14-inch IdeaPad 2-in-1 laptop with Intel Wildcat Lake and over 20 hours battery life

Lenovo has already released a couple of budget-oriented laptops powered by Intel's Wildcat Lake processors, including the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 and ThinkPad E14 Gen 8. Now, it is bringing the lower-cost chips to the IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 lineup, which currently includes the Panther Lake-powered IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 14IPH11 we reviewed in June.

By the look of things, the new IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 14IWC11 will be sold alongside the Panther Lake model. According to Lenovo's global PSREF listing, it will be offered with either the Core 3 304 or Core 5 315. It will also be limited to 16GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and a 512GB SSD. For comparison, the Panther Lake model can be configured with up to 32GB of dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory and a 1TB SSD.

The display selection is more limited, too. The Wildcat Lake variant only gets the standard IPS touchscreen with a 1920 × 1200 resolution, 400 nits of brightness, and a 60Hz refresh rate. Unlike the Panther Lake variant, there won't be an OLED or 2.8K display option. That said, the laptop is still fully convertible, supporting traditional clamshell, tent, stand, and tablet modes.

Other specifications are largely similar. The IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 14IWC11 comes with a 60Wh battery that's said to last up to 24.19 hours of 1080p video playback at 150 nits in official tests. Depending on the configuration, it will be available with Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7, a backlit or non-backlit keyboard, and a 1080p webcam with a privacy shutter. Port selection includes two 5Gbps USB-A ports, two full-function 5Gbps USB-C ports, HDMI 1.4b, a headphone jack, and a microSD card reader.

Pricing and availability

Lenovo has listed multiple regional SKUs for Australia, the UK, and several markets across Africa and Asia on its PSREF website. However, the company has not yet announced exact pricing or availability details.
