Asus releases new 14-inch laptop internationally with 1,100-nit OLED display, Intel Panther Lake and 18 hours battery life
Asus has finally started selling its new Zenbook 14 in more countries with Intel Panther Lake processors. Previously exclusive to China, the UX3480AA has now arrived in Europe to replace the Arrow Lake-H based UX3405 we reviewed last year (curr. $1,249 on Amazon).
To recap, the Zenbook 14 (UX3480AA) contains up to a 2.8K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness in SDR mode and 1,100 nits peak brightness when viewing HDR content. Also, the laptop leverages a 70 Wh battery rated for 18 hours of battery life in official tests. Moreover, the device weighs a mere 1.3 kg and measures 311 x 216 x 14~17 mm.
Currently, the Zenbook 14 (UX3480AA) starts at £1,299 (~$1,759) in the UK with a Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD and a 1200p OLED display with a 60 Hz refresh rate. In comparison, a 256 GB SSD SKU is listed in the Eurozone for €1,499. Alternatively, opting for the Core Ultra 7 355 raises the laptop's price to £1,399 (~$1,895) and €1,699. Meanwhile, the laptop has appeared in the Eurozone for €1,799 (~$2,085) with the same processor and storage but 24 GB of RAM.
Finally, the Zenbook 14 (UX3480AA) can be purchased with the Core Ultra 9 386H for £1,499 (~$2,029) and €1,899 while retaining the same memory configuration. By contrast, the Core Ultra 9 386H can be paired with 24 GB of RAM for €2,199, with its 1800p OLED display listed for a €100 surcharge. At the time of publication, Asus hopes to begin shipping UK pre-orders in late September. Conversely, the company already has stock of the laptop in the Eurozone.
