Asus releases 14-inch laptop with Core Ultra 5 325, 144 Hz display and 24 GB RAM

Asus has added a new configuration to its Vivobook 14 lineup in China, where the 2026 model is known as the Fearless 14.

The laptop is similar to the Vivobook 14 models Asus already lists internationally, including the X1407AA. Asus also recently released the Vivobook Pro 14 series, which sits above the standard Vivobook 14 lineup.

The laptop is powered by Intel's third-generation Core Ultra 5 325, an 8-core, 8-thread Panther Lake processor with four performance cores and four efficiency cores. It reaches up to 4.5 GHz and uses Intel Graphics based on the Xe3 architecture. The processor's NPU delivers up to 47 TOPS.

The Core Ultra 7 356H, used in the Vivobook Pro 14, is about 35% faster overall than the Core Ultra 5 325 in our average of 29 benchmarks. It is also around 48% faster in Cinebench 2026 multi-core, while offering a maximum turbo power of 80 W compared with 55 W for the 325.

Asus uses its IceCool cooling system to support up to 40 W in performance mode. Users can choose between quiet, standard and performance modes.

Its 14-inch IPS display has a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 30-144 Hz variable refresh rate. It covers 100% of the sRGB color space and reaches up to 400 nits of brightness. Asus also lists TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free operation, along with a black-and-white e-book mode.

Compared with the international models, Asus's X1407AA has a WUXGA 1920 x 1200 60 Hz panel, while the X1407CA comes with a 2560 x 1600 60 Hz display. The Vivobook Pro 14, meanwhile, has a sharper 2.8K 120 Hz OLED display.

The configuration comes with 24 GB of RAM and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. It has two M.2 slots and supports up to 4 TB of storage.

The laptop has a full-metal body that measures 15.9 mm thick and weighs about 1.25 kg. This makes it lighter than the international X1407AA model, which weighs 1.46 kg. Its hinge can open 180 degrees, while Asus says the chassis meets MIL-STD 810H durability requirements.

The Vivobook 14 packs a 70 Wh battery, and Asus rates it for up to 22.9 hours of video playback or 20.1 hours of simulated office work. It charges over USB-C, supporting a 5-20 V input range.

For connectivity, the laptop has two USB-A 3.2 ports, a full-featured USB-C 3.2 port, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It also features an IR camera for Windows Hello and a backlit keyboard.

Pricing and availability

The new Vivobook 14 (S3450A) configuration is already available through Asus's official store in China for a flash-sale price of CNY 6,499 (approximately $968), reduced from the regular price of CNY 6,999 (approximately $1043). Asus has not yet announced this exact configuration for international markets.
