OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro handheld console with SteamOS tested in AAA games

OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro went on sale in July 2026 after a successful crowdfunding campaign. The handheld gaming console is currently available directly from OneXPlayer’s website at a starting price of $2,499. The portable console comes with an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388 APU, up to 64 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage. However, the console comes with Windows 11 out of the box, an OS that gamers are increasingly getting frustrated with.

ETA Prime has tested the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro handheld console with SteamOS to see what kind of gaming performance the portable console can deliver.

Starting with Forza Horizon 6, the Radeon 8060S iGPU of the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 proves to be a powerful duo. The OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro plays the game at 90+ FPS without any FSR at 1200p/high settings with just a 30 W TDP.

In Cyberpunk 2077, the handheld console manages more than 60 FPS at 1200p/High with a 35 W TDP. FSR Frame Gen allows the console to push the game to 90+ FPS at 1200p resolution, ultra settings, and a 30 W TDP.

Crimson Desert is, however, quite hard to run at 1200p with high settings without FSR. Here, the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro needs a 40 W TDP to push the FPS to an average of 69. Elden Ring, on the other hand, can be run at a locked 60 FPS at 1200p/Max settings with a 35 W TDP.

Finally, Hogwarts Legacy is reportedly too hard to run without FSR at the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro handheld console’s native display resolution. ETA Prime shows that you need both a 40 W TDP and FSR “Quality” to play Hogwarts Legacy above 60 FPS at 1200p resolution with high settings.
