Anbernic has made a new video showing the unboxing of its new handheld, the RG DS Plus. The video also highlights the features and reveals its full specifications, while a source has revealed how much it will cost.

Anbernic has been teasing its new handheld, the RG DS Plus for a week now. After an initial reveal and a gameplay video showing the handheld in action, it has now provided the full spec sheet via an official unboxing video. Details of the pricing have also surfaced.

The Anbernic RG DS Plus is a sibling to the Anbernic RG DS that was announced in 2025. The Plus model differs from the standard model thanks to its larger dual displays and integrated capacitive stylus. However, it isn't a more powerful version than the RG DS.

The new handheld features two 4.3-inch IPS displays with a resolution of 1024 x 768, allowing for 4x integer scaling of the Nintendo DS's display resolution (256 x 192). The two screens are connected by a high-grade alloy hinge with stepless adjustment, thus allowing users to adjust it to various angles (max angle is 180°).

Anbernic says the RG DS Plus features Hall Effect sensors that automatically wake the display when open and there are magnets that cause it to shut when the lid is lowered to below 15°. The video also reveals the device has a length of 167mm and a width of 96mm, while its thickness and weight are 24mm and 344g respectively.

The Anbernic RG DS Plus has an integrated stylus.

The RG DS Plus is powered by the Rockchip RK3568 processor, the same one inside the RG DS, and it is paired with 1GB of RAM, whereas the RG DS has 3GB RAM because it shipped with Android. The RG DS Plus comes with Linux OS, which is installed on an included 16GB microSD card. There's no user-available internal storage, so users will have to purchase a microSD card along with it or use one they already own. The maximum supported microSD card capacity is 2TB.

The handheld has a 4,000mAh battery capacity with an advertised battery life of 6 hours and support for 5V/1.5A (7.5W) charging. The Anbernic RG DS features stereo speakers with K amplifiers, a D-pad action buttons with metal domes, two microSD card slots, two USB-C ports (1 for OTG and the other for charging), an audio jack, and a microphone. It also has Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band WiFi 5. Anbernic will ship the RG DS Plus with a lanyard, two glass screen protectors, and a USB cable.

While Anbernic has not officially announced the price and availability, the folks at Retrohandhelds, have reported that the Anbernic RG DS Plus will cost $94.99, but for the first 3 days, buyers will be able to get it at a discounted price of $84.99. It will be available in Matte Black, Coral Pink, and Metallic Blue with a stylus whose top matches the color of the handheld.
