Retroid announces preorder and release dates for Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite

Retroid has finally announced the dates when its new dual-screen handhelds will be available to purchase and when they will begin to ship. Retroid already revealed the specs and pricing for the devices, which are officially known as the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite.

According to Retroid, the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite will be available to pre-order on September 11 at 9:30 PM EST (2:30 AM GMT on September 12). For those in China, the pre-order time and date is 9:30 AM BJT on September 12. Retroid has also announced that the Pocket Duo Lite will begin shipping first, starting on September 17; while the Pocket Duo is scheduled to begin shipping in mid-October.

The price for the Pocket Duo Lite starts at $149 for the base model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and goes up to $169 for the 6GB RAM version with 128GB of storage. The more powerful Pocket Duo is available in a single configuration that has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and it costs $269.

As reported earlier, buyers who pre-order the handhelds will be able to save $14 on the Pocket Duo Lite and $20 on the Pocket Duo using the codes “DUOLITE” and “DUO” respectively at checkout.
