Deal | Retroid announces permanent price cut for three 2025 handhelds

Retroid has announced a few new handhelds this year such as the Pocket Nova, Pocket Duo, and Pocket Duo Lite. However, some of these new devices are also pricey, no thanks to the increased costs of components, especially RAM and storage. However, if you don't mind its older devices, then there's good news as Retroid has announced a permanent price cut for three of its handhelds.

The price cut comes as a reprieve following multiple instances of price increases this year by Retroid and other handheld manufacturers. According to an announcement on its social media channels, these devices have received up to a $50 reduction in their prices while stock lasts. Unfortunately, the news also comes with the announcement that once these devices are out of stock, they will be discontinued.

Below are the handhelds that have had their prices reduced:

This Game Boy-inspired vertical handheld powered by the Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 was released in 2025 with a starting price of $119 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB base model and $129 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB version. Then in March 2026, it announced a price increase for the 6GB RAM variant of the Pocket Classic, jumping from $129 to $149.

While the 4GB RAM version has been discontinued, Retroid has announced that the 6GB RAM version will now retail for $99, $50 off its previous price. The handheld is available to buy in the four-button PKM Yellow, Berry, Teal, Kiwi, and Atomic Purple colors, as well as the six-button Classic 6 and Classic 6 SG variants.

The Retroid Pocket 5 received a 12GB RAM version in July with a price tag of $209. Now, its price has been slashed down to $179, making it cheaper than the 8GB RAM version, which sold for $199 before it was discontinued. With a Snapdragon 865 processor and the ability to emulate several retro handhelds and classic consoles and run lightweight PC games, this is a pretty good deal for a capable handheld.

The Pocket Flip 2 is Retroid's clamshell handheld that was released in March 2025. Available in Qualcomm and MediaTek variants, Retroid has slashed the price of both versions. The 12GB RAM Snapdragon 865 version released in July for $219 is available to buy now for $189. It is available in 16Bit US, Black, and GC colors.

On the other hand, the 8GB RAM Dimensity 1100 version which sold for $179, now retails for $149, and can be purchased in Black, GC, and Ice Blue colors.

These handhelds are available to buy now at these prices on Retroid's website, but it remains to be seen if their new low prices will reflect at other retailers. However, as at the time of writing, they are still quite expensive on Amazon. For instance, the Retroid Pocket 5 costs $249 on Amazon, and it is the discontinued 8GB RAM version.
