Yoniq has revealed the pricing details for its upcoming handheld, the Portal. However, the device's specifications are still under wraps and there's no release date yet.

A few weeks ago, Yoniq, a new player in the handheld scene, showed off an unusual device at Gamescom 2026. The device, which is called the Yoniq Portal, is shaped like a DualShock 2 controller with a display between the thumbsticks. In our article, we described it as what the PlayStation Portal (available on Amazon for $249) might have looked like if it was made during the PS2 era.

Now, Yoniq has revealed how much the handheld will cost, and it seems there will be some sort of discount when it is available for purchase. The price reveal for the Portal comes shortly after the price of its dual-screen handheld, the Yoniq Duo, was disclosed.

The Yoniq Portal has an active cooling fan.

According to the information on Yoniq's website, the Portal will cost $199 in the US, £148.99 in the UK, and €172.99 in Europe when it launches. These prices have been discounted as their original prices are much higher. The original price of the handheld in the US is $219, while that of the UK is £163.99, and that of Europe is €190.99. Since there's no info on the launch date yet, it is not known for how long the handheld will retail at the discounted prices before reverting to its full price.

Unfortunately, Yoniq hasn't shared the full spec sheet of the Portal, although the display has been reported to be a 4.5-inch panel. However, there are some images that show the handheld from various angles and reveal a few key details.

The Yoniq Portal will have a microSD card slot, an audio jack, and a USB-C port at the bottom. One of the renders also shows a protruding part that is labelled Memory Card, akin to the Memory Card slot on the PS2. It is not clear what the port is for, but considering this is a render, one probably made with AI, it could be an error.

At the top of the handheld is the power and volume buttons, and a purple octagonal button whose function is unknown. The Portal also has air vents at the top and an intake vent on the back, which means it has an active cooling fan.

There's still a lot we don't know about the Yoniq Portal, and until we do, it is too early to say if it is overpriced or not.
