Retroid's Pocket Duo series gets a third model for $199

It appears Retroid isn't done with its dual-screen handheld series. Barely two weeks after launching the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite, it has announced a third model called the Pocket Duo Lite Plus (stylized as Pocket Duo Lite+) and it sits in between the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite.
The new Pocket Duo Lite Plus arrives as a more powerful version of the Pocket Duo Lite. According to Retroid, the handheld is born from feedback it received from fans following the launch of the Pocket Duo Lite. The Pocket Duo Lite Plus has the same design, and even has almost the same specification as the Pocket Duo Lite. However, it swaps the Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6125 (IoT version of the Snapdragon 665) for the more powerful Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 (IoT Version of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4) inside the Pocket Duo.
It also has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, unlike the Pocket Duo Lite that is available in 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB versions. Other upgrades of the Pocket Duo Lite Plus include 27W fast charging, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and DisplayPort support (4K at 60Hz), and Android 16.
The Pocket Duo Lite Plus is available to pre-order now and is available in 16 Bit, Black, Clear Purple, GC, and Ice Blue. It has a price tag of $219, but as with all new Retroid handhelds, there's a limited time discount. Retroid says using the code “LITEPLUS” during checkout will bring the price down to $199. The code is valid until October 31, 2026 and the Pocket Duo Lite Plus will begin to ship in mid-November.
With the discount, the Retroid Pocket Duo Lite Plus is just $10 more expensive than the 12GB RAM version of the Pocket Flip 2 which received a permanent price cut and now sells for $189. While you get more RAM and an AMOLED display with the Pocket Flip 2 (available on Amazon for $229), the Pocket Duo Lite Plus has the advantages of a more powerful and efficient processor, dual displays, a bigger battery capacity, and a more recent version of Android.
