Persona 4 Revival gets February 2027 release date

Sega and developer Atlus have confirmed release details for Persona 4 Revival, the Unreal Engine 5 remake of the 2008 JRPG. The game launches February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, arriving as a Day One title on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass with Xbox Play Anywhere support. A Nintendo Switch 2 version follows on May 20, 2027, alongside the newly announced Persona 6.

Modernized gameplay

Persona 4 Revival rebuilds Persona 4 Golden, the expanded 2012 rerelease of the original PlayStation 2 game, rather than remaking only the base 2008 version. The remake reworks the Investigation Team's journey through Inaba with new visuals, updated combat, refined dungeon navigation, and expanded Social Links, aiming to bring the game in line with the more recent Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal.

Animation and voice cast

Animation studio MAPPA is producing all of the game's in-game anime cutscenes, a role confirmed at Anime Expo 2026. It's only the second time MAPPA has handled a full game's cutscene work, having previously produced only the opening movie for Persona 5 Royal. The Japanese voice cast carries over unchanged from previous releases, but the English cast has been fully replaced, with Nazeeh Tarsha voicing the protagonist alongside Paul Castro Jr., Anne Yatco, Brianna Knickerbocker, and other new castmates across the Investigation Team.

In gaming related news, CESA canceled Tokyo Game Show 2026's fifth and final day, September 21, as Typhoon Dujuan approached Japan, marking the first time in the event's 30-year history that a day was called off once the show was already underway.
