Capcom Spotlight: Resident Evil Veronica update hoped for

Capcom will be hosting a 40-minute Capcom Spotlight digital presentation on September 16, 2026... kicking off its coverage of Tokyo Game Show 2026. Airing at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET (11:00 p.m. JST), the stream will deliver project updates, developer insights, and gameplay reveals across Capcom's upcoming lineup, with high anticipation surrounding Resident Evil Veronica.
40-minute broadcast ahead of the TGS show floor opening
Broadcasting globally with subtitles across 13 languages, the digital showcase airs a day before Tokyo Game Show 2026 opens to press and industry attendees on September 17 and three days before the show floor opens to the public on September 19. The event runs through September 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba.
Capcom's TGS booth lineup includes Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Mega Man: Dual Override, Pragmata, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Street Fighter 6, alongside partner exhibits such as a playable Monster Hunter Outlanders demo. Capcom has cautioned that the full Spotlight lineup is not yet finalized, leaving room for additional announcements before the stream goes live. Even so, the broadcast offers a dedicated platform for major reveals and status updates on titles still in active production.
Expected spotlight on Resident Evil Veronica
Following its official reveal during Summer Game Fest 2026, Resident Evil Veronica stands out as one of the most anticipated titles that could appear during the presentation, though Capcom has not confirmed its inclusion. Built on Capcom's RE Engine and slated for a 2027 launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, the remake transitions the 2000 survival horror classic into an exclusively third-person experience modeled after the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes.
The story follows Claire Redfield as she searches for her brother Chris and ends up on the isolated Rockfort Island, where she crosses paths with fellow prisoner Steve Burnside and the Ashford siblings. Fans are hoping the September 16 stream will bring the first look at extended over-the-shoulder gameplay and updated combat mechanics.
