Titan Comics and Capcom detail Resident Evil: Death Island Volume 1, a Zino-illustrated manga adaptation arriving September 29 ahead of the Resident Evil Veronica remake.

Titan Comics and Capcom are releasing Volume 1 of the Resident Evil: Death Island manga adaptation on September 29, 2026, giving fans a new piece of official story content ahead of Capcom's upcoming Resident Evil Veronica remake. Brought to life by manga artist Zino in collaboration with Capcom and Death Island Film Partners, the 224-page first volume adapts the events of the 2023 CG-animated film of the same name, which followed a fan-favorite ensemble cast through a T-virus outbreak in San Francisco.

A bioterror outbreak hits Alcatraz

Set in 2015, between the events of Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 7, the story follows a cast of series veterans, including Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers, as they investigate a deadly bioterror outbreak centered on the former prison island of Alcatraz. The manga traces their fight for survival against new viral mutations as they work to uncover the mastermind behind the outbreak, bringing the film's ensemble team-up to the page for the first time in English.

Pricing and where to find it

Titan Comics is publishing the black-and-white paperback for $12.99, with a digital edition also available for $8.99, with Waterstones retailing for £9.99. Physical and digital pre-orders are already open across major comic distributors and online storefronts ahead of the September 29 release. Zino, who previously worked on titles including Phantom Blade, illustrates and writes the adaptation, translating the film's action and horror sequences into manga panels.

A quiet stretch before Veronica

The release currently stands as the only confirmed official Resident Evil media tied to the games and film side of the franchise before Capcom's Resident Evil Veronica remake arrives in 2027. That remake reimagines the 2000 Dreamcast game Resident Evil: Code Veronica, once again casting Claire Redfield as she searches for her missing brother Chris after the fall of Raccoon City.

Titan Comics released a final trailer for the manga in mid-August, giving fans one last look at the artwork ahead of launch. The original Death Island film premiered in 2023 to a generally warm critical reception, and its team-up of five long-running protagonists has made it a recurring point of interest for fans hoping to see similar crossovers in future mainline games. With Volume 1 due on shelves within weeks, this adaptation gives that story a second life in print while Capcom's attention shifts toward its next major console release.
