The Extended Look at GTA 6 contains an Easter egg that only die-hard Red Dead Redemption fans may have noticed. More specifically, it involves a TV commercial that appears to show a scene from Rockstar's Wild West game.

A small Easter egg from the new Extended Look at GTA 6 is currently making the rounds on Reddit. In one scene from the Extended Look (7:47 mark), a TV can be seen playing a commercial featuring a vast landscape and several animals. The image looked familiar to Reddit user u/Kn1ghtV1sta. The player promptly went searching in Red Dead Redemption 2 and actually found a spot that looks strikingly similar to the landscape shown in the commercial.

The water is less blue in the RDR2 screenshot, the rock and tree trunk in the foreground are missing and there are no animals in sight, but aside from that, it appears to be the same location. The fan who made the discovery calls it the “best detail” from Rockstar's Extended Look at GTA 6 in their opinion. The Reddit community is celebrating the Easter egg – and wondering how anyone could possibly recognize such an inconspicuous location in the first place. The thread creator has a simple explanation: countless hours spent in Red Dead Redemption 2.

This isn't an entirely new approach for Rockstar, however. The studio already used footage from its own games for the TV programming in GTA 4. One specific example is the commercial for the Patriot 500 car race, which airs on CNT immediately before I'm Rich. It shows Carl Johnson driving a Hotring Racer on the runway of Los Santos International Airport from GTA: San Andreas. In GTA 4, the familiar location is simply repurposed as a racetrack called the “Patriot Beer Motor Speedway.” Rockstar using Red Dead Redemption 2 as source material for the TV programming in GTA 6 (available for pre-order on Amazon) would therefore be less of a surprise and more of a continuation of a small tradition.
