Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2

Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition brings the open-world action RPG to Nintendo Switch 2 as an all-in-one package. The release combines the complete base game with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, letting players explore both the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow on portable Nintendo hardware. Digital pre-orders were listed at $79.99 on the Nintendo eShop, with the download size at 41 GB.
Bundled expansion and new Tarnished content
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition includes the full dark fantasy storyline crafted by game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and author George R.R. Martin. Alongside the existing content from the base game and expansion, this release introduces exclusive gameplay additions. Players gain access to two new starting classes, including the high-dexterity Idus Knight, plus new character armor sets. For the first time, players can also customize Torrent, their Spectral Steed, with new aesthetic attire options such as the Tree Sentinel and Silver of Caria designs.
Cross-platform availability and performance
The release marks the debut of FromSoftware's RPG on Nintendo hardware. While the Tarnished Edition is built natively for Switch 2, players on other platforms can access the same new content through a standalone release. The Tarnished Pack add-on brings the new starting classes, character armor sets, and Torrent customization options to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. On Switch 2, the port runs at 1080p in both handheld and docked modes, targeting 30 frames per second without DLSS upscaling.
