Niantic and Capcom's Summer of Hunters 2026 event brings the Tropical Cannon Gunlance, boosted rewards, and 24-hour Velkhana interceptions to Monster Hunter Now through September 6.

Niantic and Capcom have launched Part I of Summer of Hunters 2026 in Monster Hunter Now. The event runs from August 24 to August 31, then shifts into Part II through September 6, bringing an event-exclusive weapon, expanded field range, and boosted material rewards to iOS and Android.

Forge the Tropical Cannon and take on boosted spawns

Completing the Summer of Hunters 2026 I quest rewards a forging ticket for the Tropical Cannon, an event-exclusive sleep-element gunlance carrying the Rude Awakener skill. The weapon supports style customization up to level 20 and is a featured defense weapon for Season 10 Wave 3, offering base defense bonuses ahead of the Riftcharged Glavenus challenge.

Hunters also gain a 50 percent increase to their access range for the duration of the event, and gathering points along with small monster kills yield double materials.

Part I raises encounter frequency for Shogun Ceanataur, Deviljho, Diablos, and Riftborne variants of Mizutsune, Paolumu, Glavenus, and Khezu. Diablos appears as a Riftcharged variant rather than Riftborne. Part II shifts the field focus to Shogun Ceanataur, Mizutsune, Paolumu, Zinogre, Legiana, Jyuratodus, and Bazelgeuse, with Riftborne versions active across the board.

24-hour interceptions and reduced driftsmelting distance

Velkhana remains the featured target at Elder Dragon Interception points across both parts, with Hunt-a-thons and Elder Dragon Interceptions running continuously for the full event window rather than during normal daily hours.

Slaying Velkhana grants double materials across the first four basic reward slots, while general large monster hunts grant double materials in the first two slots. Driftsmelting distance for driftstones collected during the event drops to one kilometer.

Featured monsters and elder dragons guarantee a new item, Mysterious Driftstone T, which can grant armor pieces either the Pursuit or Retaliation skill. Other large monsters continue to drop the standard driftstone set instead.

The Event Exchange Hub accepts Summer of Hunters 2026 Exchange Tokens for rewards, including an exclusive Guild Card background, and stays open through September 13 for redemptions after the main event ends.
