The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past daily streams set for Gamescom 2026

CD Projekt Red will be marking the fifth anniversary of its REDstreams broadcast series with a five-day livestream marathon dedicated to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past. The celebration follows the expansion's first look during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026, with daily broadcasts running from August 26 through August 30.
Five days of gameplay coverage and developer interviews
The daily broadcasts will air live from the Gamescom show floor in Cologne, Germany, timed to match the REDstreams series' fifth anniversary. CD Projekt Red is streaming the coverage on its official YouTube and Twitch channels, with each of the five days expected to include gameplay walkthroughs, developer commentary, and interviews with team members from both CD Projekt Red and co-developer Fool's Theory.
Attendees at Koelnmesse can also see guided presentations of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past at CD Projekt Red's booths. The business area presentation, at Hall 4.2, Booth B065, runs from August 26 to August 28. The entertainment area presentation, at Hall 8.1, Booths B030 and A031, runs the full five days, from August 26 to August 30.
Songs of the Past bridges the story toward The Witcher 4
Co-developed with Fool's Theory, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past is the third major story expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the first in a decade. It is scheduled to launch in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, putting players back in the role of Geralt of Rivia for a standalone story set after the events of Blood and Wine.
CD Projekt co-CEO Michał Nowakowski has described the expansion as "in a way" a prologue for the franchise's future, though he stopped short of calling it a direct lead-in to The Witcher 4. The expansion will also bring a Gwent card update. On PC, the game will run exclusively on DirectX 12, dropping the DirectX 11 path that has existed since the original 2015 launch, alongside updated system requirements.
