The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered was just announced at Gamescom 2026, and it will be available starting September 29. Those who own the game will be able to download the remaster for free.

It’s been over 11 years since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first launched, but CD Projekt Red is not done with it yet. While we wait for the Songs of the Past DLC – coming next year – the studio announced a remaster that will be available for free to those who already own the game. During the quick promo, a lot of changes were mentioned, so here’s a list of everything improved for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered.

During the presentation, CDPR gave an overview of what’s been enhanced. That included upgraded visuals, movement improvements, visual effects for signs, mount handling, monster behaviour, a revamped skill tree, expanded photo mode, and new finishers. On top of these, there are quite a few more improvements:

  • New shading model
  • Subsurface scattering
  • New tone mapper
  • PS5 Pro support
  • Xbox Play Anywhere support
  • Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive features
  • Nvidia DLSS 4.5 support

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered will launch September 29 and, as mentioned earlier, will be free for those who already own the game. Furthermore, owners will also get the two original expansions – Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine – for free. And those who purchase the remaster will get access to both expansions as well.
