The Witcher 4 could see Yennefer join Ciri after leak from voice actress

CD Projekt Red has picked Ciri as the star of The Witcher 4, but much of the cast is a mystery. However, the voice actress for Yennefer has now allegedly admitted to recording new lines. Another possibility is that Geralt’s soulmate will appear in The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past expansion.
Redditor -FMAF claims Denise Gough, who voiced Yennefer in the third Witcher game, attended a recent event. She autographed a copy of The Last Wish short story collection and then gave an unexpected update. The Irish actress said she recorded dialogue involving Ciri.
The latest comments contrast what Eurogamer reported in 2025. At the time, the Yennefer actress revealed that her involvement in The Witcher 4 was uncertain.
Unfortunately, it’s debatable what project Gough was referring to. When The Witcher 4 release date hopefully arrives in 2028, fans know Geralt’s adopted daughter will be the protagonist. Geralt himself is set to have a role, but his lifelong love interest remains unconfirmed.
Fan favorites likely to return
Although the 4th entry begins a new trilogy, the studio emphasized the game is not a reboot. In a 2024, executive producer Malgorzata Mitrega explained how “relationships and emotions” would drive Ciri, now played by Ciara Berkeley. Few figures are as influential to the character as Yennefer, who protects her surrogate daughter and helps hone her magical abilities.
Gough may also have been teasing a contribution to Songs of the Past ahead of its 2027 release date. Still, the narrative seems to center on Geralt, continuing The Witcher 3. Doug Cockle returns to voice the hero, with John Schwab personifying his friend Dandelion. It’s unclear what other cast will join them in the open-world setting of Letten.
While fans wait for clarification on The Witcher 4, they won’t be short on content. Even before the Songs of the Past expansion debuts, The Witcher 3 Remastered has rekindled interest in the action RPG.
