8BitDo's Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers gets an anniversary edition and a wireless charging battery

8BitDo has joined in the celebration of Xbox's 25th anniversary with the launch of a new product. The brand has announced a 25th anniversary edition of its Ultimate Charging Dock and has begun accepting pre-orders ahead of its release later this year.

The new accessory is officially called the 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers - X25 Special Edition and it is similar to the 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers - Gears of War: E-Day that was announced a few weeks ago.

Like several of the products released in celebration of Xbox's 25th anniversary, this has a translucent green design, too. 8BitDo says the charging dock is designed to pair with the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Edition, but it is actually compatible with any Xbox Series S|X Wireless controller and Xbox One controller.

Like the Gears of War: E-Day edition, the 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers - X25 Special Edition comes with a 1000mAh wireless rechargeable battery that you need to insert into your controller. Once inserted, cover it with the battery door, and place the controller on the dock to charge. An adjustable LED indicator will come on to let you know the controller is charging, an when it is full, the light will change from amber to white.

The 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox Controllers - X25 Special Edition is priced at $39.99 and is available to pre-order on 8BitDo's website ahead of its release on October 20. There's also a listing on Amazon, but as at the time of writing, the page says it is out of stock.
