GameSir launches X5 Lite for Xbox telescopic mobile controller with swappable ABXY buttons

Earlier this week, GameSir announced a special edition controller in celebration of Xbox's 25th anniversary. Initially, we thought the controller, was a special edition based on the GameSir X5 Lite controller that was released in 2025, but it turns out that isn't the case. The manufacturer has now announced the X5 Lite for Xbox, which is the controller the anniversary edition is based on.

The GameSir X5 Lite for Xbox is officially licensed by Xbox and has the same features as the X5 Lite for Xbox 25th Anniversary Edition. However, instead of a translucent green shell, it is available in black and white colors. The controller is also MFi certified, unlike the standard X5 Lite.

The X5 Lite for Xbox features GameSir Hall Effect sticks, Hall Effect analog triggers, and users can even physically swap the position of the ABXY buttons, a feature not available on the standard X5 Lite (available on Amazon for $34.99). It also has a movable USB-C port, protective silicone padding, and support for pass-through charging. Owners will also be able to customize its features using the GameSir App.

The GameSir X5 Lite for Xbox is compatible with Android and Apple smartphones with a USB-C port. It is also compatible with compact tablets whose length don't exceed 213mm, such as the iPad Mini, Redmi K Pad 2, and the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5. The controller can be used for playing native Android games, PC games via GameSir's GameHub, or cloud service games from services such as Xbox Game Pass.

The GameSir X5 Lite for Xbox is available to pre-order now for $44.99, the same price as the 25th anniversary edition. It comes with silicone pads to protect your device from scratches, a button clip, a storage case, a sticker, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate voucher for a free one month subscription. Like the anniversary edition, it will begin to ship in October.
