Asus has opened preorders for the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a 20th-anniversary handheld gaming PC featuring a 7.4-inch 120Hz OLED display. While its core hardware mirrors the Ally X, the X20 adds revised controls, anniversary styling and an optional $2,499.99 bundle with AR glasses and accessories.

Asus is now accepting preorders for the ROG Xbox Ally X20, a 20th-anniversary handheld gaming PC that adds an OLED display to the Xbox Ally lineup. The standalone model costs $1,299 in the US and is scheduled to launch on October 15. The X20 features a 7.4-inch 1080p ROG Nebula HDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, variable refresh rate support and a peak HDR brightness of up to 1,400 nits.

Under the hood is an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM and a 1TB M.2 SSD, mirroring the Ally X. On the outside, Asus has equipped the X20 with TMR joysticks, revised controls and rubberized grips, while retaining the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. Its translucent black chassis with gold detailing is designed to mark ROG's 20th anniversary. Lastly, the device runs Windows 11 and provides access to a broad PC game library through its Xbox-oriented interface.

The X20 is also available as part of a $2,499.99 anniversary bundle (pictured above), which includes ROG XReal R1 Edition 20 AR glasses, a custom dbrand Killswitch case, a Pelican protective case and a 68W power adapter. The glasses feature Micro-OLED displays and can reportedly generate a virtual screen of up to 171 inches. The $1,300 standalone price is $300 higher than the Ally X's launch price, meaning that buyers are largely purchasing a cosmetic and display refresh, not a more powerful machine.
