Xbox launches Gears of War: E-Day limited edition controllers

Xbox has announced new limited edition controllers based on its upcoming video game, Gears of War: E-Day. For these limited edition controllers, Xbox is offering buyers two options. They can either purchase the pre-designed one or design their own version with Xbox Design Lab.

Priced at $89.99 and available to pre-order now, the controller has a 3D molded, laser-etched design reminiscent of a cracked earth. There's a Crimson Omen visible on the front of the controller and the battery door has a metallic silver COGS tag printed on it.

The Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller also features a black left thumbstick and blacked out A, B, and Y buttons, while the remaining buttons on the front are crimson red. It also has a translucent red D-pad, Xbox button, and triggers; and the rubber grips have a leather-like design.

The controller is available to pre-order now on the Microsoft Store and on Amazon ahead of its release on September 30.

If you wish to design your own Gears of War: E-Day Xbox Wireless Controller, you will have to wait until September 30. Microsoft says that users will be able to customize their controllers with exclusive artwork based on the game.

The main theme for the Xbox Design Lab controller will be two crossed chainsaw lancers surrounded by skulls on the front shell. However, with customization options available on the Xbox Design Lab such as button styles, it is easy to make your controller stand out from the rest.

Microsoft says both controllers will be on display at Gamescom 2026 later this month, so you can check them out at the Xbox booth.
