The GuliKit ES Max controller has finally been released and it boasts a handful of features not available on the other ES models. However, the primary feature is the new proprietary angle-sensing TMR joysticks which GuliKit claims are superior to other TMR joysticks.

GuliKit has announced its new controller under the ES series. Called the ES Max, the new controller sits at the top, above the standard ES controller and the ES Pro controller.

The ES Max has the same design as its siblings and even features the same button and joystick layout. However, it sports two programmable back buttons (G1 and G2). It also has adjustable Hall Effect triggers that allow users to switch between micro-switch and Hall-Effect linear modes.

Another major difference is the thumbsticks. Unlike the standard ES controller which has GuliKit Hall Effect magnetic joysticks, and the ES Pro which features GuliKit split TMR joysticks, the ES Max uses GuliKit's new integrated angle-sensing TMR joysticks.

A new type of TMR sticks

GuliKit says these joysticks have upgraded linearity and stability compared to conventional TMR sticks. They also directly detect the joystick's rotation angle, unlike regular TMR and Hall Effect sticks which use sensors to detect changes in the magnetic field. It also claims they are better suited for FPS games. The joysticks have replaceable anti-friction KK Ring joystick caps.

Other features of the ES Max controller include a D-pad that can quickly be switched from 8-way to 4-way, turbo function, replaceable keycaps, button remapping, and motion assist (PC only). It also has a rotor vibration motor whose vibration intensity can be adjusted.

GuliKit ships the ES Max controller with an HyperLink 2 adapter (costs $16.99 when bought separately) which increases the polling rate and reduces the latency when you connect to your device through it. The adapter can also be used with other controllers including the PS5 DualSense controller and the Xbox Wireless Controller.

Compatibility and pricing

The GuliKit ES Max is compatible with PC, Android, iOS, macOS, SteamOS, and Nintendo Switch/Switch 2. Like the ES Pro, it also has support for waking up the Switch and Switch 2 and is compatible with the new GuliKit mobile app. There's a 950mAh battery inside the controller that should provide up to 30 hours of playtime.

Available in Black, the GuliKit ES Max is available to buy now on Amazon US for $49.99. It is also listed on Amazon.de for €53.56 and on Amazon UK for £42.99.
