Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer reveal: Three squad horde, weapon mods, and no battle pass

As promised, Gears of War: E-Day multiplayer has been revealed. The game mode brings back the classic match types but on a larger scale, and with new content. The team has detailed each multiplayer game mode and shared launch maps as well as unlockable content.
The nearly 13-minute video shows the Horde Siege mode built on the classic Horde mode. This time, there will be three four-person squads on the same map completing objectives and defeating bosses. Loot and rewards will be shared, but those who reach them first will get the best equipment. Because the squads are not competing with each other, the medic class can revive other squad members. And weapon modding is present as well.
The Versus PvP mode returns with 4v4 matches in symmetrical battlefields with the same starting equipment. There will be five maps available at launch and four modes, namely, Team Deathmatch, Conquest, Demolition, and Crucible. New maps and modes will be added post-launch.
Lastly, Gears of War: E-Day will not have a battle pass system, and almost everything will be unlockable by just playing the game. This includes character and weapon skins, though some premium edition items will be paid.
Early access for those who pre-order Gears of War: E-Day starts August 6 on Xbox consoles and PC. The open beta then starts on August 13, with the game launching on October 6.
