Halo: Campaign Evolved and Gears: E-Day pre-orders and price leak before Xbox Games Showcase

Microsoft is likely to feature a remake of its popular 2001 shooter at the June 7th Xbox Games Showcase. Ahead of the event, reliable insider billbil-kun has obtained Halo: Campaign Evolved pre-order information and a price. In addition, he has reported new details about Gears of War: E-Day, amid confusion over its exclusivity.

Billbil-kun believes that physical pre-orders for the Combat Evolved remake will begin either during or after the livestream. Buyers may be relieved to know that it will cost $49.99/€59.99 for all platforms. The leaker hasn’t confirmed a release date, but Microsoft could address its launch timing shortly.

Gears of War: E-Day may be an Xbox exclusive after all, if journalist Jeff Grubb is correct. However, billbil-kun still expects a Halo: Campaign Evolved PS5 version to ship. The publisher already revealed its multi-platform status in October 2025. It’s unclear whether pre-orders for PlayStation console owners will open at the same time as the Xbox and PC versions.

Less expensive than many AAA games, the Halo: Campaign Evolved price could entice buyers. The studio considers it a remake, with Unreal Engine 5 modernizing the sci-fi shooter’s visuals. Fans saw a glimpse of unreleased footage when leaked screenshots surfaced on Microsoft’s storefront on June 5th.

The developers have also added new missions and weapons and made various gameplay tweaks. On the other hand, more limited multiplayer modes will consist of 4-player co-op or 2-player split-screen.

What is going on with E-Day Xbox exclusivity?

Before the Games Showcase, the situation with Gears of War: E-Day is much murkier. After Walmart posted a PS5 listing, many fans assumed it would not be an Xbox exclusive game. Yet insider Jeff Grubb later claimed that Microsoft had canceled the port at the last minute.

Billbil-kun has shared a $69.99 price for the third-person shooter when it ships in 2026. He sees evidence of the PS5 port on retail backends, but is only certain that Xbox and PC pre-orders will start after the E-Day Direct livestream.
