Xbox Games Showcase 2026 gets an official date

Microsoft has announced that Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will air on Sunday, June 7, 2026, starting at 10 a.m. Pacific, 12 p.m. Central, 1 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. UK time, and 7 p.m. CEST. The company says the presentation will be followed immediately by a separate Gears of War: E-Day Direct, giving the franchise its own post-show segment.

According to Xbox Wire via Microsoft, the main showcase will include first gameplay looks and updates on upcoming titles from Xbox first-party studios as well as third-party partners worldwide. Microsoft has not yet published the full lineup, but the company is already framing the event as its next major look at the future Xbox release slate.

Gears of War: E-Day gets its own dedicated Direct

Rather than folding Gears of War: E-Day into the broader showcase, Xbox is giving it a standalone deep dive immediately after the main event. Xbox Wire describes it as a closer look at “the return of one of Xbox’s most legendary franchises,” signaling that Gears of War: E-Day will be one of the central first-party titles in Microsoft’s summer showcase plans.

The June 7 broadcast also marks the return of Xbox Fanfest, which Microsoft mentioned alongside the showcase announcement. Xbox said additional details on the livestream and related coverage will be shared closer to the event.

Fresh official gaming calendar item ahead of June showcase season

The timing places Xbox back into the early June showcase window, with Microsoft again using a two-part format built around a broad platform presentation and a game-specific Direct. Last year’s event was followed by The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, while this year the follow-up slot goes to Gears of War: E-Day.
