Hades II comes to Xbox Game Pass in April with Xbox Play Anywhere support

Hades II is headed to Xbox on April 14, with Microsoft confirming that Supergiant Games’ sequel will launch that day for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud. Xbox says the game will also be available day one through Xbox Game Pass and will support Xbox Play Anywhere.
That announcement gives Hades II a clearer Xbox rollout than earlier platform chatter around the game, and it also makes the release a notable Game Pass addition for April. Microsoft’s Xbox Wire post says the Xbox version will include all post-launch patches already released on other platforms, along with extra quality-of-life improvements and some bonus content.
Xbox’s version arrives with post-launch updates already included
Xbox is framing the April 14 release as the most complete version of Hades II so far. According to Xbox Wire, that package includes the patches already shipped elsewhere after launch, which should give new Xbox players a more polished starting point than day-one users on other platforms received. Xbox also says the game will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title, which means supported progress and ownership carry across Xbox consoles and PC within Microsoft’s ecosystem.
The core pitch of Hades II remains familiar: fast roguelike action rooted in Greek mythology, but with Melinoë replacing Zagreus as the lead. In its announcement post, Xbox highlights some of the sequel’s bigger gameplay differences from the first game, including Melinoë’s sprint, a Magick bar for Omega moves, a different Cast ability, and multiple route choices rather than a single upward escape path.
April 14 adds another notable Game Pass release
For Xbox, the bigger story is not just platform availability but subscription access. Xbox says Hades II will be playable through Game Pass on release day, while also being available across Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and cloud streaming. That gives Microsoft another recognizable third-party day-one title to point to in the service’s spring lineup.
So far, Xbox has not used the announcement to outline any PlayStation version, and the official messaging around April 14 is centered on Xbox hardware, PC through Xbox, and cloud access. For now, the confirmed date to watch is April 14.
