Lenovo releases new 14-inch convertible laptop globally with OLED display and 32 GB RAM

Lenovo has released a new IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 globally. To recap, the company equipped Gen 10 models with up to AMD's Strix Point architecture (curr. $575 on Amazon). This year, Lenovo has transitioned the IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 to nominally more powerful Gorgon Point processors.
Specifically, the IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 (14AGP11) can be configured with the Ryzen AI 5 430, Ryzen AI 5 435 or the Ryzen AI 7 445 in most markets. A trio of Zen 5 APUs, the Ryzen AI 5 430 comes up about 15% short of the Ryzen AI 7 445 in our benchmarks, with the Ryzen AI 5 435 somewhere in between. All these APUs utilise the Radeon 840M iGPU with 4 Compute Units (CUs) built around the RDNA 3.5 architecture.
Additionally, Lenovo offers 1200p IPS or OLED panels that peak at 400 nits. It is worth noting that both of these 14-inch panels peak at 60 Hz with glossy finishes, though. Setting that aside, the IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 (14AGP11) can be configured with 16 GB or 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of M.2 2242 storage. All SKUs feature 60 Wh batteries with support for 65 W charging, too.
The IdeaPad 5a 2-in-1 (14AGP11) starts at $849.99 but can be configured up to $1,319.99 with a Ryzen AI 7 445, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB of storage, an OLED display and a Windows 11 Pro licence. By contrast, entry-level SKUs retail for €1,100 in the Eurozone, CAD 1,189 in Canada, AUD 1,829 in Australia and £960 in the UK.
