Less than 1.2 kg: LG releases lightweight new 16-inch laptop with 120 Hz OLED display

LG has finally released new Gram Pro 16 laptops. Available in China and Japan for now, LG teased in January that the device would launch globally at some point. For reference, the Gram Pro 16 joins the smaller Gram 14 and the Gram Pro 17, too.
With that being said, the Gram Pro 16 is the only one of the three to feature LG's new Aerominum composite. While LG remains light on specifics for now, Aerominum helps the Gram Pro 16 weigh just 1,199 g. LG's new 16-inch laptop is also 12.4 mm thick, which is about 0.9 mm thicker than the MacBook Air 15 (curr. $1,249 on Amazon).
All SKUs ship with 77 Wh batteries and 16:10 displays. Only the Core Ultra X7 358H variant comes with a 2.8K OLED display, though. According to LG, this display reaches 500 nits with a 30-120 Hz variable refresh rate (VRR). By contrast, IPS equivalents output at 2.5K with a 60 Hz refresh rate and just 350 nits peak brightness.
The Gram 16 Pro 16Z90U comes in a choice of three processors in Japan and two in China. Currently, LG offers Core Ultra 7 355 and Core Ultra X7 358H variants in both countries. However, Japan has received an AMD Ryzen AI 5 435 variant too. Pricing for all SKUs is as follows:
